Joyful Giving

Generosity is central to our Christian faith, "For God so loved the world that he GAVE . . .”

As Deuteronomy 15:10 Says “You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him: because that for this thing the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to.”

There are many reasons for giving but one of the main reasons is if you want to be blessed in your works and whatever you do, you should give without grieving.

There are so many people who offered GOD joyfully but my personal favourites are:

3 Joyful Givers in Bible:

1. ABEL - Always offer Best for Him as Abel did.
“And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. (Gen. 4:4 – NIV).

2. POOR WIDOW – Give Everything as the Poor widow gave.
“Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” (Mark 12: 43-44 – NIV)

3. SMALL BOY – Give whatever you have (In Kind or Cash) as this small boy gave.
“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” (John 6:9 – NIV)

It does not matter how much you give but it is important to give with full heart.

The Lord Jesus expects and requires us to give. Jesus said to His disciples, "when you give" not "if you give" (Matthew 6:2) Hence, Christian giving is not optional, but rather essential. We often hear folks say: "in the Old Testament they had to give, but not in the New - now we only give if we want to." This is clearly not Jesus' teaching. He expected all His followers to be givers.

Always offer the best, give everything that you have and give in cash or kind.

Are you giving?
